ALI

HER STORY

I grew up just like a lot of young girls  and started playing rec ball at 7 years old. To be honest, I didn’t even know softball was really a sport yet. One day my dad took me to Big 5, handed me a pair of sliders and knee pads, and said, “Here, try these on.” The rest is (sort of) history.

When I joined my first team, I was pretty bad. When I stepped up to the plate, I wouldn’t even take the bat off my shoulder because I was so afraid of missing the ball… or getting hit by it. Eventually, after a few honest words from my dad, “If you want to play softball you have to swing the bat,” I decided to stop being afraid and just go for it.

As I kept playing, I realized I had some natural ability, but more importantly, I had an ambition that pushed me to improve. In middle school, I remember Googling: “How long does it take for something to become a habit?” I was tired of making errors on defense and thought if I could make fielding ground balls a habit, I could eliminate mistakes.

So I went to work.

I would spend countless hours throwing a ball against the wall at my local elementary school, fielding the rebound over and over again until it became automatic. It wasn’t glamorous, but it taught me something early: improvement comes from consistency and discipline.

That mindset stayed with me throughout my career. The game that started as rec ball eventually took me to the University of Washington and all the way to representing Team USA as an Olympian, something that younger me could have only dreamed about.

Softball gave me so much more than just a career. It taught me resilience, discipline, confidence, and how to push through failure — lessons that extend far beyond the field.

Today, my passion is helping the next generation of athletes discover what they’re capable of. I love working with players who are willing to learn and work hard,  whether they’re just starting out or chasing big goals of their own.

I know firsthand that the nervous kid who’s afraid to swing the bat might one day achieve more than she ever imagined.

And if you’re willing to put in the work, I’d love to help guide you on your journey.

HER FOUNDATION

Before I am an Olympian, before I am a softball player, I am a follower of Jesus. My faith is the most important part of my life, and it is the foundation for everything I do—on and off the field. My greatest desire is to honor God with the platform He has given me and to live out the Great Commission by sharing His love with others.

My journey of faith began during a difficult season in high school. After a knee injury took away my ability to play softball for a time, I also experienced a painful breakup and felt lost about where to turn. Softball had always been such a big part of my identity, and when that was suddenly uncertain, I realized I needed something deeper and more secure to stand on.

I decided to start going to church because I wanted to do the right thing, but what I found was so much more. As I continued to show up, I encountered Jesus in a real and personal way and chose to give my life to Him. From that moment forward, something in my heart truly changed.

Over time, God began to reshape my perspective on softball and success. I realized that my purpose was not simply to achieve goals or win games, but to glorify Him in every opportunity He places before me. Softball became a gift and a platform—one that allows me to compete with excellence while pointing others to something far greater than the game itself.

I’m also incredibly grateful that God has blessed me with the man of my dreams, Peter Talbot. We were married in November 2025 in San Diego, California, and he is truly my forever adventure partner. Together, we desire to follow Jesus, serve others, and use our lives to make an eternal impact.
